Manoj Kulkarni completed his MSc in Agriculture from Marathwada Agricultural University Parbhani (1998) and Ph.D. Biotechnology from Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded (2007). He has worked extensively in the Indian Seed industry as a plant breeder for seven years.
He was Research Scientist and Faculty at Vidya Pratishthan’s School of Biotechnology, teaching and researching plant molecular biology and genetics at VSBT (2005-2007).
Manoj then moved to Blaustein Institute for Desert Research, Israel (2007-2009) to research dryland agriculture and drought tolerance. He worked on various projects to do breeding for water stress tolerance in crops.
From 2009-2018, Manoj worked at National Research Council, Saskatoon, as a Research Scientist in crop molecular breeding and genomics research in wheat, canola, and flax. He has experience in various crop research -from breeding to genomics to genome editing. He was project co-lead and project lead in various government and provincially funded projects (more than 10 million CAD).
After completing his MBA (Food and Agribusiness Management ) from the University of Guelph (Ontario, Canada ) in 2017, Manoj worked as Chief Science Officer for plant genomics, tissue culture, and crop science research (2018-2020). He is the founder and CEO of two companies in science education and health food genomics.
Manoj thus brings his rich experience in crop breeding, genomics, food security, and business management. His interest includes health food, genomics, and crop research for global food security.
Manoj wishes to use this platform to connect with industry, investors, and mentor the younger generation of scientists and entrepreneurs.
